Methodology (v1.0)

1. Universe. Every Telegram gift collection listed on Fragment that TG Gifts tracks (all collections on fragment.com/gifts).
2. Daily snapshot. The radar re-reads each collection's cheapest buy-now listings about every 15 minutes. The first reading after 00:00 UTC is that day's snapshot: floor = cheapest buy-now listing (auctions excluded); recent sales = sales shown on the collection's Fragment sold page (Fragment shows at most 60). The day's value is published from 01:00 UTC.
3. Eligibility. A collection counts on day t if it has a floor on both day t−1 and day t, and at least 15 recent sales on either day. New collections enter automatically once they qualify.
4. Weights. Proportional to recent sales (capped at 60), so thin collections count less. No collection can weigh more than 10%; any excess is spread over the others. Because Fragment caps the count at 60, liquid collections currently weigh about the same.
5. Formula. TGGI_t = TGGI_t−1 × Σ w_i × (Floor_i,t ÷ Floor_i,t−1). Chain-linked daily (weights are reset every day), so collections can enter or leave without jumps. Base: 100 on 2026-10-18, the first full day of data.
6. Units. Floors are in GRAM (formerly TON). The index tracks prices in GRAM, not in US dollars.
7. Freezing. A published daily value never changes. If we find an error, we add a dated correction below.
8. Limitations. Fragment only: Portals, MRKT, Getgems and Telegram's in-app market are not included. A floor is a single listing, so one cheap listing can move a collection's floor for a day. It measures floors, not average sale prices.

Corrections

None so far. If we ever find an error in a published value, the note goes here; history is never changed silently.
